Shinjiro Aragaki MEISTER ☇ RAPID RECOVERY | ![]() |
Returned home by BREW. |
Minako/Minato's gruff friend, and apparently a member of their SEES team from Iwatodai. Between the Arisatos, however, it is Minako that Shinjiro was familiar with, from the looks of it. Shinji initially struck Roy as somebody who doesn't want to be messed with, and someone who was totally uninterested in getting to know other people or letting other people in on his business. He can't exactly forget, however, the way the boy looked at the mention of cooking, nor the fact that Shinji went out of the way to visit him in the hospital with food... Kanaya's attack on Vriska gave Roy a glimpse of what Shinji's like, along with his strange sense of justice. Oddly, it is one that Roy himself agrees with and might even be fine with seeing, if he wasn't head of the Watch. He feels like he understands the boy better now, but does wish that he could have gotten to know him better..
Alex Louis Armstrong WEAPON ☇ CHAINED GAUNTLETS | ![]() |
Returned home by BREW. |
To say that Roy had been relieved to see Armstrong the second time around would be a dire understatement - the man had been an ally and friend to him upon his arrival in Death City, and his subsequent disappearance had shaken him badly. That this Armstrong had been taken from a different time and therefore had no previous memories of Death City was of little consequence: their initial conversations and Armstrong's willingness to assist him in Watch were more than enough to put Roy's fears to rest. Of course, it had taken some time before Roy mustered up the courage to come out about... well, personal matters that he was originally content with leaving out in order to stay professional. He was expecting the worst in spite of everything, but it soon became clear that he should not have been worried at all. BREW has seen it fit to return Armstrong yet again to Amestris. He had a good run while he was around, though, and had been invaluable and keeping DOGS afloat in Roy's absence. He's a loyal man: something tells Roy that he might just be back in the future. If he never does return, however, that is fine as well. They all have things that they need to do.
Chosokabe Motochika MEISTER ☇ SOUL LEADER | ![]() |
Returned home by BREW |
Motochika instantly reminded Roy of Date the moment he saw the man on the network, and later learning that he came from Date's world pretty much confirmed everything. Admittedly, it was the Date connection that put Roy's doubts about the man to rest - he had been leery for a bit about the whole pirate thing. While he's a bit exasperated over how much it costs DOGS to refund stores and other damaged parties for the rampages that Shizuo, Motochika's Weapon, goes on under his Meister's supervision, the pair do good work as his Zone Leaders. Results count at the end of the day with this sort of thing. His departure has left Roy down yet another good man.
Nanako Dojima WEAPON ☇ LOVELINE SPYGLASS | ![]() |
Returned home by BREW. |
Nanako's a quiet girl, the sort of child who never gives anyone trouble - in spite of that, she ended up in Death City. Roy, of course, took it upon himself to watch over her to the best of his abilities during her stay there. He could not shake the feeling that he had suddenly become a father in those days, but maybe it could not have been helped - he DID feel extra responsible for her because she's Dojima's one and one daughter, after all, and he and Dojima were partners. Still, there were times when Roy didn't quite know what he was doing with Nanako: he has no clue how to handle kids, and admittedly, odd images of Elicia Hughes came to mind whenever he saw her. Even if Nanako and Hughes' daughter are worlds apart, though that isn't going to stop him from watching out for her, in his own way. It took a bit of time, but Nanako eventually started warming up to Roy, and, following Dojima's untimely disappearance for nearly a week, the two inevitably became close. The girl has even trusted him with things that she wouldn't tell her father, like her desire to find a Weapon (an activity that Roy approved of). All in all, she became family, and Roy planned on protecting her with his life. Losing her had crushed Dojima in a way that Roy had not entirely been able to fix, but he had tried his best. Now Dojima's gone, and a Nanako without any memory of Death City had turned up, asking about her father on the network. Suffice to say, everyone had lied about what had happened to the man, including Roy. The girl's been taken back yet again. Roy isn't sure whether to be grateful or sad about that.
Ryotaro Dojima WEAPON ☇ GRENADE LAUNCHER | ![]() |
Killed during a city siege. |
Where does he even begin? Back then, Dojima had been just another one of the many responding to him on the network during the madness that came with arriving in a sandstorm. They had talked, bonded over cigarettes, decided to meet over drinks. Not much had been said, and that had suited them just fine. From then on, it had been easy - ridiculously easy - to stay on the safe side of things. Because of that, they had both believed that it wouldn't change, even after they partnered up. They did so out of need, after all: Roy needed a Weapon, Dojima needed a Meister, and both of them had wanted to fight. He hadn't planned on getting attached. He hadn't counted on the possibility that he wouldn't be able to let things rest or avoid asking questions, or wondering. He hadn't wanted to repeat the past. Overall, caring had not been part of the equation, but it had forced its way into things anyway, and now both he and his Weapon have crossed lines that they hadn't ever intended on crossing. The news over how things ended up for them ten years into the future made things incredibly complicated, along with a later failure to resonate that left Roy in the hospital for a week. Radio silence on both of their parts then led to what Roy had thought would be the end of their relationship. Then Dojima kissed him. Twice. And asked him to stay. He had thought that it was a fluke, at first, but his Weapon had consistently gone out of his way to reassure him that they had something and that he wasn't about to let Roy go. After that, Christmas happened, certain items were exchanged, and... well. To say that he had been happy - truly happy - for the first time in a long time was putting it lightly. Maybe they could make something out of it. Maybe they could fight the war, stay together, and figure something out that worked for the both of them once it was all over. Then BREW saw it fit to take Roy home, and when he managed to get back to Death City, he found himself staring not at Dojima, but at a grave stone with Dojima's name on it.
Alphonse Elric MEISTER ☇ SOUL ALCHEMY | ![]() |
Returned home by BREW. |
Roy has always viewed Alphonse as the voice of reason between him and Edward, and has quietly relied upon the boy in the past to keep his brother in check and let Roy know if something was up. It's not a fool proof system - the Elric boys are tight, and have a habit of keeping things from adults, including Roy - but it worked, for the most part. Seeing Alphonse in Death City immediately put Roy on the defensive: new world or no, alternate Amestris or no, Alphonse was still his responsibility, by merit of his age and his connection to Edward. Roy made sure to watch over Alphonse as much as he could while the other was in Death City, and was immediately worried about him when Edward vanished. True to Roy's fears, it wasn't very long before Alphonse ended up following his brother back home.
Zack Fair WEAPON ☇ BUSTER SWORD | ![]() |
Returned home by BREW. |
A little young, a little exuberant and sometimes loud, but Zack seemed to have his heart in the right place. That's all that matters, really. Strangely, Roy didn't mind the younger man's company - his first conversation with Zack (one that THIS Zack doesn't remember) had struck a chord within him, and he does see traces of those sentiments in his dealings with Zack. Beyond all of that, though, another point that Roy and Zack seemed to have in common is the fact that the both of them care about Aerith. He used to wonder, though, exactly what the pair had planned on doing now that they're on borrowed time in Death City with each other. He might just ask Zack that one day, over drinks. If he comes back.
Lightning Farron MEISTER ☇ SOUL DETERMINATION | ![]() |
Returned home by BREW. |
To say that they had hit it off instantly would be an understatement, although Roy is almost certain that Lightning DOESN'T want to think of it that way at all. He had felt compelled to speak to her straight the first time - he knew a good soldier when he saw one. And good soldiers only needed to be told the facts, stripped of any emotion, in order to be able to assess and respond accordingly. They also ended up talking a lot more than he had originally expected them to, which was a pleasant surprise... her later offer to help him surprised him even more. It wasn't too long before they ended up becoming friends. Light actually reminded Roy of Riza. She was a good woman: that much he became certain of upon seeing how there was every opportunity for her to press him for details or badger him about his personal life, and she deliberately ignored each one. But good women have the tendency to lock up when they shouldn't, and follow when they need to step back and keep themselves safe. He could only hope that should she ever get herself in trouble, she'd have the skill to pull herself out of it. He had hoped, as well, that she would be able to swallow enough of her pride and ask for his help when she needed it. Suffice to say, she didn't. That might have been the reason why BREW ended up taking her back home.
Aerith Gainsborough MEISTER ☇ CALMING WAVELENGTH | ![]() |
Returned home by BREW; perished in her timeline. |
He... really has no words for Aerith, actually. She's affectionate, sweet and friendly to just about whoever she meets, and he's been the reluctant recipient of her attention time and time again. She was also the one who always managed to pull him out of his slumps, either by merit of excellent (uncanny) timing or by forcing her way without really forcing anything. She could have ignored him, minded her own business, tended to keeping herself safe. But she didn't. Then there was the fact that in even though she was brought home once and came back not knowing who he was, she still insisted on carrying on as though they were still great friends. People like Aerith are a threat to the emotional walls that Roy builds around himself in order to stay sane, but Roy couldn't help but be drawn to the girl. It's not like she stayed away from him either, so there was no avoiding it. It eventually hit a point where he stopped WANTING to avoid it, and things just fell into place Losing Aerith due to BREW was terrible for Roy, because he's well-aware that she's gone back simply to die. Part of him hopes, though, that she was put down easy and sent off right by Cloud and the others who cared for her.
Greed MEISTER ☇ SOUL SIEGE | ![]() |
Returned home by BREW. |
Greed's arrival had caused quite a stir among the others, and with good cause - he was a Homunculus, and the Homunculi in both versions of Roy's world were evil. What was odd, however, was the fact that Greed shared Ling's face, and that some of the others from further into the future than the rest were willing to trust him. A quick investigation on Roy's end made things a little clearer, but didn't change his opinion. At the end of it, Greed was a potential threat. ...That was how it was, at least, until Roy realized that the two of them had a lot more in common than they thought. Also, what started as an agreement to exchange information and to team up in the event of King Bradley's arrival in Death City soon became an almost-friendship, one that involved a copious amount of drinking and interesting conversations. Greed recently joined the Watch as what Roy suspects to be an attempt to find some new purpose for himself, and Roy was quietly looking forward to learning more about the other. The Homunculus, however, was returned home before anything managed to come to the surface. It looks like answers are going to have to wait, if they'll ever come at all.
Grit WEAPON ☇ HANDHELD ROCKET LAUNCHER | ![]() |
Returned home by BREW |
A fellow smoker, war veteran and officer figure, although Grit's slippery nature and lazy attitude do serve as as a point of difference between them. Even with those slight hitches, however, Grit did good good as a part of the force, and Roy has a feeling that he'll himself occasionally missing their conversations.
Yosuke Hanamura WEAPON ☇ HEADPHONES WITH A METEOR HAMMER | ![]() |
Killed on a routine mission |
A Persona user from Inaba, and Souji's closest friend. This was a new Yosuke from the one Roy knew, and, as before, the boy was rathjer intimidated by him. That, of course, just gave Roy more of a reason to work at getting to know him better. Any friend of Souji's is, after all, a friend of his. He later discovered, from Souji, why things were complicated between them. Roy did his best to help Souji through that mess, and had been puzzling over how to get Yosuke's side of it when Souji disappeared. Roy did try to look out for Yosuke after BREW brought Souji home, but the rigors of his position and Yosuke's own evasiveness made that difficult. Now, in light of Yosuke's death, he's left with regretting the fact that he had been unable to do anything.
Jade Harley MEISTER ☇ COLORFULLY REMINDED SOUL | ![]() |
Returned home by BREW. |
An amazing girl with some amazing abilities, the first and foremost being the fact that she was a crack shot at thirteen, and knew things about guns that some veteran soldiers twice her age did not. Roy was a bit reluctant to let her join the Watch, but she put in some good work, and quickly proved herself over the course of several missions and a few mishaps within the city. The two of them also became close, because Jade made it a point to fuss over Roy as if he were her father, and Roy's always had a weakness for kids. Suffice to say, seeing her returned home made him sadder than he'll care to admit.
Jean Havoc WEAPON ☇ CARBINE RIFLE | ![]() |
Returned home by BREW. |
It took one conversation with this Havoc to ease most of Roy's apprehensions about dealing with the man - he's been around the group long enough to know that he's still welcome as their Colonel, even if their Amestrises may not exactly be alike. The moment Havoc offered to help out with the Watch and started putting in all the punchlines right on time, however, Roy knew that memories aside, there really wasn't a difference at all. He could still trust this one, and still rely on the man to watch his back. Their relationship only deepend when Havoc hounded Roy when he tried to retreat after a rough patch with Dojima: Roy ended up telling Havoc pretty much everything, if only because he was too damned tired and sad not to tell somebody he trusted. Suffice to say, Havoc's reaction surprised him. Sometimes, he wonders what he did to deserve people who'll follow him to hell and back, and just take him for what he is. It's been a long time since BREW returned Havoc home. Roy misses the man on occasion, but but it is likely better that he's where he belongs rather than in Death City.
Train Heartnet WEAPON ☇ HADES (GUN) | ![]() |
Killed during Operation Arizona |
Train's drawl and devilmaycare attitude reminded Roy, vaguely, of a cat that's been out on the streets for far too long. He got worried, at times, about Train's propensity to just do as he pleases, but he had the sense that the younger man's heart is in the right place. The things he did while he was on the team, including sharing his expertise as a gunner and a fighter, soon drove that point home. That he was unable to sense Train's personal turmoil and sense of loss over a certain series of events that led to his reckless suicide attack during Operation Arizona is something that he deeply regrets.
Elizaveta Hedavary (Hungary) WEAPON ☇ FRYING PAN | ![]() |
Returned home by BREW. |
During her her stay in Death City, Hungary was the unofficial mother of the Watch. She had been the first country to sign up and help the group out with her expertise, and invaluable adult figure to the younger members on the team. Her appearance was most deceiving: there was a fearful power in her, the sort that was actually capable of making Roy stop and put his pen down when she's on his case for over working. (She could wield a frying pan with frightening precision, okay?) They had a good run together, and Roy did feel a fair amount of affection and some real respect for Hungary. The contributions she made to his team and to the war effort are things that he won't be quick to forget.
Kaoru Kamiya MEISTER ☇ SOUL TALK | ![]() |
Returned home by BREW. |
A nice, spunky girl whom Roy has had several pleasant run-ins with. She's a strong one, but it's obvious that she's had to deal with some pretty crazy things in her life... not that she's told Roy any of this, of course. He's just pretty good at watching and taking note of the details. Kaoru ended up returning home at the same time as Himura Kenshin, whom she appeared to be very close to. Roy wishes for all the best for them both.
Arthur Kirkland (England) WEAPON ☇ BROADSWORD | ![]() |
Returned home by BREW. |
Given the way England acted, it was hard for Roy to believe that he was an embodied country, and therefore much older, and with much more experience when it came to war. It was due mostly to England's awkwardness over becoming a "regular" human being, something that made him seem so young and, at times, vulnerable. England was one of Roy's good friends during his stay in Death City, and he does have some fond memories of him up until now.
Suzaku Kururugi WEAPON ☇ TANTO | ![]() |
Returned home by BREW. |
Disciplined, courteous and ever willing to help. Roy strongly approved of Suzaku, and felt like he could rely on the boy in any situation. The service he later provided as a member of the Watch only served to reinforce this belief. On a more personal note, however, Roy's conversations with Suzaku, alongside the fact that the young man offered to aid him without hesitation, intrigued him. The was clearly a soldier - it's a trend, it seems, among the young people who end up in Death City. He wondered just how much that one has seen, for him to say the things that he said. They managed to develop a good bond between them during Suzaku's stay, and Roy was rather sorry to see him returned home by BREW at the end of it.
Lady WEAPON ☇ KALINA ANN (ROCKET LAUNCHER) | ![]() |
Returned home by BREW |
Roy's headache with this one started early: she was apparently from the same world as Dante and Vergil, and living evidence of some of the darker things that Vergil had done prior to his entrance in Death City. If that shared past wasn't bad enough, there was also the fact that the animosity the pair had for each other was phenomenal. Understandable, yes, but definitely not the sort of thing that the Watch needed in their group. Roy refused to take sides, of course. He was fond of Vergil and considered the younger man a friend, but Lady, for all her smoke and fire, did not strike him as the sort who could be capable of deceiving people and making false accusations of such gravity against anyone. He firmly kept the pair apart and decided to see how things went. Suffice to say, things took a turn for the better, and his own desire to keep Dojima off the field plus Lady's need to stay occupied and focused on the fight made for ripe conditions for them to partner up. They grew much closer after that, and saw each other through a number of sticky and personal situations. Losing Lady, at the end of it, was losing another good friend for Roy. He wishes her well, of course, in wherever she may be at present, but can't deny the fact that he would like to see her again.
Kuroro Lucifer MEISTER ☇ SOUL STEAL | ![]() |
SOUL DESCRIPTION FROM APP |
Kurapika's former partner, and the very epitome of Charming Gentleman. In spite of the smoothness, however, there's something... off, about this one. There is also the fact that he's a, ahem, 'collector', with particular skills that Roy made use once for the sake of his training his men. Him getting arrested later on only confirmed that. Roy can't say that he looks forward to seeing if this one's going to come back, but perhaps, if it's for Kurapika's sake...
Ludwig (Germany) WEAPON ☇ GEWEHER KARABINER 98K | ![]() |
Returned home by BREW |
This one was good, better than he had ever give himself credit for. An authority figure that anyone who's just found themselves stranded in Death City can trust with their lives. Everything about Germany, in fact, screamed MILITARY, and Roy strongly approved. The country was amazingly efficient, and was clearly one of the reasons why Shibusen was still on its feet during its worst period. For a good while, though, the country didn't seem to trust Roy, and there were more than a few things that the two of them disagreed on. Strongly. Still, the pair did manage to find a lot of common ground after a time - they had their differences, but they're BOTH concerned with fighting and winning the war, after all. Things smoothed out even further after Roy stopped trying to see how to dismantle Shibusen and actually lent his skill to the Academy; that eased Germany up considerably, which subsequently led to the country not trying to get on his case. They soon became friends, of a sort, and staunch comrades-in-arms. Roy was initially worried about how things would go after Germany's departure, but he has been replaced by many other able soldiers. Now he simply misses the other, on occasion, as one might miss a friend.
Lust WEAPON ☇ SWITCHBLADE | ![]() |
Returned home by BREW. |
In spite of her attempts at keeping a low profile, Roy had caught on to Lust's presence rather quickly over the network, and took to monitoring her from a distance, leading her to believe that he did not know who she was. He let the charade end, though, during one of Death City's celebratory balls. After that, they went about their own business quietly, with one eye on each other's activities. It was not fear, per se, merely caution. Roy was pretty confident that should Lust have lifted a finger against his friends or anyone in Death City, he could take her down without problems. And he would have been happy to do it. As things are, BREW solved THAT potential problem for him rather neatly.
Souji Okita MEISTER ☇ SOUL EXPERIENCE | ![]() |
Returned home by BREW. |
Pleasant, smiley, enthusiastic and professional, with a propensity to fuss over his Commander in a way that told Roy that he was kind of used to taking care of workaholics in positions of authority. Overall, Roy couldn't say that he had any complaints about this one. The fact that the younger man goes on patrol in the colors of his force from back at home also left Roy with the impression that they probably have more in common than they think. Souji managed to go on several major operations and assist the Watch during a few crises prior to his departure. He was one of the best Zone Leaders that Roy ever had the honor of having under his command.
Oruha WEAPON ☇ NECKLACE | ![]() |
Returned home by BREW; dead in her timeline |
It was... odd, but Roy felt totally at ease back then, talking to Oruha - they hit it off so marvelously that it surprised him. He's always been one for a pretty face, but he's never taken such things seriously: beautiful women don't really help the Cause, after all. And none of the other women from other worlds, with the exception of Light struck him this way so soon. Maybe the chemistry was just right, or maybe she just knew how to handle soldiers like him (she DID mention having a soldier for a boyfriend), or maybe she just came in at the right time, with all the right words. Whatever it is, Roy did feel drawn to Oruha, and is oddly comfortable in her presence. It may have been the ultimate reason why Roy ended up opening up to Oruha when he felt like things were falling apart, with Riza's first arrival and Hughes turning up, as well, for the first time around. They ended up becoming very close, and Roy was only beginning to learn how to deal with it when she was taken back home. There are many fair faces in Death City at the moment and there will be many more in the future, but Oruha's is one that Roy won't ever forget. She was a charming woman, a wonderful cook, and a talented singer - overall, Roy considered it the greatest pleasure (and honor) to be acquainted with her. He hopes, quietly, that she'll come back someday: misplaced, one might think, given the fact that there's a war going on, but Roy knows that Oruha has no other chance beyond this to live a happy life. She's supposed to be dead in her own world, after all.
Ran Fan MEISTER ☇ ITEM DETECTION | ![]() |
Returned home by BREW. |
Ran Fan never discovered this, but Roy had been... uncomfortable with her, at first. It was not her fault at all: she just reminded him a bit too much of Riza Hawkeye, which, of course. led to a very discomforting trajectory whenever Roy thought about it. When Ling disappeared the first time around, however, Roy felt as though it was only right for him to take responsibility for Ran Fan's safety and give her something to do. He ended up with one incredibly dedicated soldier for his trouble, and another in Ling when the Prince returned to Death City. He's back down to one now, though, since, in an interesting reversal, BREW returned Ran Fan home.
Yoko Ritona MEISTER ☇ SOUL FOCUS | ![]() |
Returned home by BREW. |
Yoko was one of the first people to help Roy out on his initial arrival in Death City - he found himself talking to the young woman often, and they became rather close during their months together in Death City, close enough for Roy to even try and push her in Miles Edgeworth's direction when the pair started showing interest in each other. He was more than a little sorry to see her go, but he knows, for a fact, that she has business to attend to back in her world. What is, is best, and all.
Winry Rockbell MEISTER ☇ SOUL REPAIR | ![]() |
Returned home by BREW. |
It had been hard already, having to deal with the fact that Edward Elric's childhood friend/Gracia Hughes' surrogate older daughter (and therefore someone whom Roy had to be more than just simply acquainted with on a regular basis) happened to also be the daughter of a husband and wife pair that you had to kill in cold blood, in spite of the fact that they saved your life once. You can talk about orders, maybe wax poetry on things like honor and duty and a soldier's responsibility, but the fact remains: you shot them. They didn't fight back. Roy has a whole lot of regrets, things that pushed him to do the things that he did, and Winry's a living embodiment of one of the biggest ones that he's ever had. And somehow, the fact that this isn't specifically the Winry that he's made peace with makes things worse. He knows that telling her would be the right thing to do, but he's not sure if he can even bring himself to have to admit it all over again. Taking lives means being responsible for the people who were left in their wake, and that was a responsibility Roy took rather serious while he and Winry were in Death City together. He'd do it all over again for the girl, should she ever wind up in this world a second time around.
Saber MEISTER ☇ SOUL TSUNDERE | ![]() |
Returned home by BREW |
One of the original members of the Safety Patrol; she was carried over when the Watch was established. This was something that Roy did not mind in the slightest: he has spoken to Saber on a few occasions, and was impressed, overall, by the way she carried herself. Their conversations during Saber's time in the city were rare, but always fruitful. She was one of the quiet pillars of support under his command, and an invaluable fighter.
Gintoki Sakata WEAPON ☇ LAKE TOUYA (WOODEN SWORD) | ![]() |
Returned home by BREW. |
The "lazy", sugar-loving danna of Death City's first and only Yoruzuya, and a close friend of Katsura's - he only joined the Watch much later, even if he and Roy had had a number of interesting run-ins. Theirs was one of the stronger partnerships on the team, strong enough to get Roy to consider them for Zone Leadership before things got too busy. Gintoki was always an interesting one to him: he had the smell of a soldier, and there were occasions when it was clear that he was familiar with the weight of war and loss. Most folks only noticed how much he slacked off and goofed around, but really: it takes one to know one. They had a number of nice heart-to-hearts, enough for Roy to consider the man a friend and feel the loss of his presence keenly.
Selendis MEISTER ☇ SOUL SPEAK | ![]() |
Returned home by BREW. |
Another Protoss, and the one who succeeded Tassadar as Executor of their people. She was very obviously younger than her kinsman in many ways, but that seemed to make her no less capable. She quickly rose up in the ranks of the Watch, becoming one of Roy's most trusted soldiers. He had initially been worried about whether the history between her, Kerrigan and Tassadar would get in the way of things, but his fears in that direction were quickly assuaged. Selendis was a good influence upon Karkat Vantas, her Weapon, and the pair made an excellent team. Roy feels losing her almost as keenly as Karkat does, but if Selendis had battles to fight back in her world, then perhaps her departure is, indeed, necessary
Souji Seta MEISTER ☇ CALMING WAVELENGTH | ![]() |
Returned home by BREW. |
Souji struck Roy as a sensible, reliable kid on the get-go - his manner told him that the boy knew what it's like to be conscripted to fight a war that he shouldn't have had to fight, which did strike a few chords. He was uncomfortable around Souji at first, though, and for good reason - the boy was serious beyond his years, and also happened to be Dojima's nephew. Nevertheless, they've managed to connect on various levels both during Souji's initial period in Death City and at present, and the distance between them has lessened with considerable speed. Roy was surprised and honored at the fact that Souji considered him part of the family, and was grateful, in spite of everything, for the way the boy tried to go out of the way for him and fix things between him and Dojima. He came to believe that Souji was an old soul: he was the sort who speaks straight, answers clearly and doesn't just mouth off whatever happens to be at the top of his head. Perhaps that was not surprising... the things Souji had seen aged him. Still, someone as reliable as Souji needs people to watch his back. It goes without saying, then, that Roy looked out for that one as much as he could, right up until BREW returned him home.
Vergil Sparda MEISTER ☇ SOUL ADRENALINE | ![]() |

Vergil immediately caught Roy's attention with his first post to the network, and it wasn't too long before he came to regard the younger man with some respect - he reminded Roy, distantly, of some of the junior officers he used to deal with during the Campaign. The ones who were all about Results, no matter what the cost. Types like him were always hard to get through to, and sometimes - just sometimes - dangerous to be with. Roy sincerely hoped that Vergil was just the former. It was easy to stick to brisk professionalism and keep their relationship business-like, but a number of events and the fact that Roy is always one to get rather attached to the men who work under him have changed things. Vergil was a great asset to the team: Roy trusted in him to get the job done, and it was trust well-placed. Sometime before Vergil's departure, Roy began to see a more human side to the swordsman, one that Vergil likely wasn't aware of. As such, Roy privately resolved to keep an extra eye out for this one, and to do what he could to keep Vergil on the straight and narrow - he had heard some disturbing things about what the younger man USED to be, before he went to Death City. What he might have STILL been, in fact, although Roy hoped that would not be the case. They never did get to talk on it, and he can only hope now that wherever Vergil ended up back in his world, he'd be at peace with himself.
Superbi Squalo WEAPON ☇ SWORD & BUCKLER | ![]() |

Amusing, loud, but overall? Harmless. ...Okay, he'll admit it: it was hella fucking fun to poke at Squalo. It was kind of like taking a jab at Fullmetal, only without the short jokes. Roy also found it amusing how he went from Public Enemy Number One on Squalo's list to Boss, to - heaven forbid - friends. And by flirting publicly on the network, no less. Losing this one was a real shame. Roy had a feeling that they had a lot more in common than Squalo would have liked to believe, which was probably why they were constantly at each other's throats (or, well, why Squalo was trying to tear his out). Soldiers who believe themselves to be human weapons had the tendency to be suspicious of each other, after all.
Celty Sturlson WEAPON ☇ MOTORBIKE | ![]() |

SOUL DESCRIPTION FROM APP |

They didn't get off on a good start, actually - Celty met Roy when Roy was preoccupied with Knowing Everything whether people liked it or not, and Roy met Celty when Celty wanted nothing more than to hide particular thins about herself. They got back on the right foot soon enough, however, and eventually became rather close. She was one of the few people who knew the value of silence and brevity, and that made her an excellent shoulder to not lean on whenever Roy happened to maybe need it Ultimately, her disappearance was a blow. The only condolence he has is that she's back where she belongs rather than stuck fighting a battle that isn't hers to fight.
Itachi Uchiha WEAPON ☇ RING | ![]() |

Roy did not know what to make of Itachi at first. The man was Sasuke's older brother, and clearly the source of the boy's angst - it became obvious, on the get-go, that he's a distant fellow, the sort who seems to keep himself separate from the rest of humanity on purpose. With that in mind, his decision to join the Watch and his partnership with Naruto of all people was puzzling, to say the least. There was also the fact that the other people from his world treated him as an enemy... Roy only found out why much later, and ended up defending the man based on the good work that he had put in as a member of the crew. The two of them never really managed to talk about the issue of Sasuke until Sasuke's actual departure, and any residual apprehensions Roy had about trusting Itachi were swept away in light of how it was obvious how much his brother meant to him. How could someone who loved family that deeply be truly evil, after all? Itachi's departure has, no doubt, been some form of relief and apprehension on the part of the people from his world who are still in Death City. Roy isn't about to ask, but he does hope that things will work out for the man now that he's back where he belongs. He was a good addition to the team.

Roy's first encounter with this one was on the training grounds: the boy wished to spar. Roy, of course, indulged him. Apparently, it left enough of an impression on Sasuke for the boy to keep on coming back for more. Roy's initial perception of Sasuke was that the kid was serious and skilled, and in need of somebody to set him straight. He was soon proven right - the more they talked on the network, the more intrigued (and alarmed) Roy became. Just what does it take for a kid to be so antisocial, so driven, and so breakable? He tried, of course, to dig around, but came up with nothing until he managed to catch Sasuke at a particular vulnerable moment. Suffice to say, the conversations resulting from that left Roy wondering exactly what happened between Sasuke and Naruto, Sasuke and his own brother, and Sasuke and the likes of Kakashi and Gai. For the way that Roy claims to not be interested in babysitting, he's always been drawn to kids, especially ones who looked like they needed a helping hand. Sasuke was no exception - Roy decided to be around for him, whether he liked it or not. Suffice to say, the boy eventually came to trust him in his own special way, and Roy did everything in his power to help him through the many rough patches that he experienced in Death City. That Sasuke came to work for him only made it easier for the two of them to form a strong bond, one that held up until the boy's departure. Roy has heard a bit of what happens to Sasuke back in his world: he knows what the boy's going to end up returning to. He hopes that maybe something will change, and he won't ever lose himself to the darkness within him.

An ex-military surgeon, and one of the "older" guests in Death City - from how it looked, he had been around, taking afternoon tea with friends and being incredibly pleasant to patients long before Roy ever arrived. A decent chap, and a gentleman of rare breeding; they're were never especially close, but Roy felt comfortable enough around this one when he was in Death City.
Gilbert Weilschmidt (Prussia) MEISTER ☇ SOUL IRRITATE | ![]() |

Germany's 'brother', and a commendable commander, someone whom Roy believed to be worth following in a combat situation. Prussia's hyperactivity was something that Roy would normally be irritated at, but it seemed... different, somehow, on the country. He might even be inclined to say that Shibusen needs folks like Prussia to keep the morale up, even if it's through the sheer power of annoyance. Roy is certain that his presence will be missed, even if no one's going to admit it. He knows that he'll miss the guy, at any rate...
Yao Wong (China) WEAPON ☇ QIANG | ![]() |

Roy and China had a very professional relationship during the country's time in Death City, punctuated by surprising displays of concern and intimacy - surprising, perhaps, given the fact that China had seemed even less willing to relate with humans as Germany and the others were. Roy respected the other's space as well as he could, but when China began warming up to him, he took that as a signal to go to the man for advice. When he thinks back to it, he's surprised at how his relationship with China went as far as it had - he had expected some serious resistance, given how the countries seemed to treat people (read: with a certain amount of distance, distrust, or disdain), but found, instead, that they had much in common. They did not become friends at the end of it: they became something almost close to family.
Yuna MEISTER ☇ SOUL SUMMON | ![]() |

A nice girl who gave off the impression that she was far stronger than she looks - and that was proven to be correct soon after they met. She was quick to sign up for the Watch and help out to the best of her abilities, which Roy could not thank her enough for. He was half-reminded of Aerith at first, which did make him wonder why he always ended up with the nice and incredibly perceptive girls watching his back and making sure he didn't work too hard. They eventually became close after having some nice heart-to-hearts outside of work, and became closer yet after Yuna and Vergil became an item. Roy was a little sorry to hear the news of Yuna's disappearance, and was sorrier still to see the kind of effect that it had on Vergil and on Auron. He won't forget her any time soon. |
