Flynn Scifo
MEISTER ☇ SOUL COORDINATE

Idealistic, kind, dutiful, stubborn, short-sighted

Roy's second-in-command, the third in a line of disappearances and friends long gone. Perhaps he'll never actually say this to Flynn, but Roy was initially attracted to the young man because he saw bits of his younger self in him, the Roy Mustang that had had high hopes for himself and for Amestris prior to the horrors of the Ishval Campaign. That was actually one of the main reasons why he felt confident enough to take Flynn on as his subordinate the moment the boy signed up for the Watch, and start grooming him to be his second even before he had really "proven" himself in Death City, and to the rest of the force. There had been complaints and a few disagreements, but Roy had stuck by it, believing that things were going to work out.

Suffice to say, Flynn seems to have come a long way since then. Working together has only brought him and Roy closer together, and the Meister has come to view Flynn as one of his own, almost at the level that he'd view the likes of Hawkeye, Havoc and the men he's left behind in Amestris. He feels more secure now, about leaving DOGS and Death City in Flynn's hands, should it ever come down to that.

MEISTER ☇ CALMING WAVELENGTH

Aloof, compassionate, rational, optimistic, observant, bitter

One of the more experienced members of Roy's team, and someone whom Roy took a liking to almost immediately, given the common experiences they have shared as soldiers. Recent events have given them even MORE things in common (read: dead lovers, regret), although in some ways that isn't exactly a good thing to celebrate, given the grounds in question.

Aion
WEAPON ☇ GUNBLADE

Caring, Cruel, Cunning, Charismatic, Spirited, Cracked.

It's been an interesting ride with Aion so far. The demon's quite a character, prone to being rather frank with Roy on matters of leadership and morality, and very obvious about his want for power and position. He's been a good soldier and commendable member of DOGS thus far, but something about the nature of their interactions still makes Roy wonder if he can really trust the younger man or not.

Only time will tell, perhaps.

Aqua
MEISTER ☇ SOUL LEVITATE

Loyal, kind, dedicated, serious, responsible, strong-willed.

Roy knew Aqua was a nice girl on the get-go: she was a bit on the quiet side, though, and it was the sort of quiet that came with a bit too much experience on the battlefield for one of her age. That Roy's used to seeing kids fighting wars did not make it better. He's gotten to know her better over the past few months because of the time she spent on the Watch, and has started to treat her with a bit more care and affection than he would an average soldier.

He's also very exasperated by her stubborn refusal to take a break when she needs to. (Granted, he'll never admit to the fact that he often does the same thing.) Nevertheless, she does appear to be improving, as of late... she has, for one, actually acknowledged that there might be a problem, which is always the first step.

Kratos Aurion
WEAPON ☇ FLAMBERGE

Knowledgeable, kind, intimidating, dependent, strong, observant

Another extremely dedicated and perhaps overly serious knight for the team. Seems to have a soft spot for animals, and is in dire need of lessons on how to take some down time for himself.

(Not that Roy can really be the judge of that, but well. Pot, kettle, black.)

Auron
MEISTER ☇ SOUL ARMOR

Determined, wry, cryptic, weary, self-sacrificing, guilty

Another grizzled veteran signing up to do what he can in Death City. Seeing Auron, at first, did make Roy wonder if BREW was attempting to dig up every tired, old soldier out in the multiverses to fight the war for it. He wouldn't put it past the machine to do that at all.

Through booze, several conversations, a lot of fights and a few personal losses on both of their ends, Roy has formed a rather steady friendship with Auron. The two of them seem to understanding each other on a visceral level - they know the tragedy of loss, the ugliness of fighting for the wrong cause and realizing it too damned late. Few others really understand.

Beyond that, and now that Auron has gotten out of his slump, the man has proven himself to be an irreplaceable Zone Leader and member of the team. Roy knows, for a fact, that Auron's got his back. He's got Auron's as well.

Toph Bei Fong
MEISTER ☇ SEISMIC SOUL

Stubborn, determined, loyal, strong, temperamental, and down-to-earth.

One of the first young ones to sign up for the Watch. Admittedly, Roy forgets only too often that she's blind - she just seems very capable of taking care of herself, which is a lot to say given her disability.

While the snark and wit occasionally make Roy think of Toph as an old woman in a little girl's body, there are times when things that she says or does remind Roy of the fact that she's still a kid. That used to be the reason why he was once hesitant to send her out on missions, or give her a lot of responsibility... she has Temeraire now, though, and the two of them performed admirably as Deputy Zone Leaders to Genesis and Carmine. Now they're heading the district, and since nothing has exploded, Roy figures that maybe things will be fine.

He hasn't forgotten, as well, of how Toph went out of her way to visit him after Dojima's send-off. That was something he appreciated more than he'll ever say.

Barnaby Brooks Jr.
MEISTER ☇ SOUL BOOST

Determined, Brave, Suave, Socially Inept, Nostalgic, Emotional

Koutetsu's no-nonsense partner whose seriousness, professionalism and willingness to help out caught Roy's attention immediately. He's rather pleased with the way that the younger man has conducted himself thus far, and is happy to have the Hero under his command.

(...He's also wondering if he can put those good looks to use in the future, for some PR stunts... it can't hurt, right? Lord knows they need some good publicity.)

In some ways, Barnaby's relationship with Koutetsu reminds Roy a bit of how it's like to deal with Hughes. As such, he often finds himself smiling (or wincing) in sympathy at the pair. On a more serious note, though, that does mean that they're tight, and will have each other's backs no matter what. Roy's sure that this will serve both them and DOGS well in the future.

Emil Castagnier
MEISTER ☇ SOUL SUMMON

Eager, appreciative, guilt-prone / abrasive, tsundere, wary / determined, sensitive, single-minded

One of his "younger" patrolmen. Having him on the team actually means having two very different people who happen to want the same thing, which is probably the only reason why things work out in that direction. Roy has wondered, on occasion, what it must be like resonating with Emil, given his condition.

Isaac Clarke
WEAPON ☇ GRIP

Adept, schizophrenic, understanding, intelligent, creative, irritable

A war vet and engineer who recently signed on with DOGS as a mechanic. Roy's looking forward to ~~grilling him about his world, which sounds very futuristic and interesting~~ seeing what Isaac can do on the field.

Masaru Daimon
WEAPON ☇ DIGIDEVICE

Aggressive, loyal, energetic, emotional, egotistic, determined

Roy will never forget how this kid ended up being on the Watch. He is also not surprised at how Armstrong and the boy ended up being partners while Armstrong was around.

(Quietly, though, he hopes that he will never have to see Masaru sparkle.)

Crazy circumstances forced Roy to place Masaru in command of sections of the city as a Zone Leader, and it was during those times that he really saw how the boy managed to rise to the challenge and do well both for himself and their organization. He's always going to be reluctant, however, to place Masaru in too much danger. Kid means a lot more to him than he used to, and he still feels the need to watch over him. It had once been out of deference to Armstrong - now it's out of genuine affection.

Masaru has recently lost several friends because of BREW, which does have Roy honestly worrying about the boy's well-being. He hopes that he'll be able to help him out before any real damage is done on that end.

Lord Darcia III
MEISTER ☇ SOUL ARMOR

Grieving, clever, pragmatic, fierce, passionate and honourable.

A fellow alchemist, apparently, from another world. The two of them had a good conversation after Darcia's initial briefing, and Roy found himself alternately fascinated with the few things he learned about the (much) older man's world, and sympathetic with some of the personal details Darcia had disclosed to him.

At the moment, Darcia appears to be like a serious man, willing to take up the burden of Shibusen's war. Roy's been left with the impression that he's doing it for the right reasons so far.

Masamune Date
MEISTER ☇ ELECTRIFYING SOUL

Wild, reckless, cool, spirited, badass, unpredictable.

Roy had quite the history with the first Date that came to Death City: the young general's drive and determination had impressed him, and they had gotten along well enough for Date to come around and join the Watch. He had also pulled Date away from the edge when a friend of his, Asano Rin, ended up getting killed by the witches.

This Date does not feel very different from the one that Roy was used to, and they remain on amiable terms. He has also recently rejoined DOGS, and seems to have his eyes set on the possibility of becoming a Zone Leader yet again once he's found a partner. Roy's rather pleased by this development: lord knows DOGS needs some good fighters.

Eve
MEISTER ☇ RAPID RECOVERY

Compassionate, loyal, determined, naive, quiet, inquisitive.

A quiet kid who used to tag along with Train when the younger man was still alive - they were apparently from the same world, and Eve appeared to value Train a lot. Roy had a few doubts about letting Eve on as part of the crew, as he is wont to whenever a young one comes along. Eve, however, has proven herself to be rather skilled, and hasn't given Roy any new reason to be worried lately.

Granted, there are times when Roy wonders who the adult really is between her and her partner.

Sheena Fujibayashi
WEAPON ☇ OBIJIME

Determined, kind, friendly, stubborn, honest, courageous

A bright and playful young woman that Roy ended up getting along with almost instantly - she impressed him on the get-go with her attitude, and he was more than happy to take her in as one of his own.

Saitou Hajime (Goro Fujita)
MEISTER ☇ SOUL ENDURANCE

A gruff swordsman who put in some good time during his first stay in Death City, and then came right back around to do it all over again. Not the best guy to call on for dealing with civilians and other guests, but he's excellent otherwise.

Kakashi Hatake
MEISTER ☇ SOUL STEAL

Elusive, Reserved, Intelligent, Dangerous, Cynical, Lonely.

One of his two Zone Leaders over at the Inner City Residential District, as different from his partner Might Gai as night is from day. It was straight down to business in their very first conversation, and that was an instant point of respect for Roy - it was hard to come by folks who, upon having arrived in Death City, were willing to go the whole length in order to support the war effort.

Prior to his return from wrapping up unfinished business in his world at BREW's behest, Kakashi and Roy had not talked all that much - theirs is a strictly professional relationship, and Roy had quickly learned that it was better to monitor Kakashi from afar rather than ask him straight for details about himself. Kakashi's clear concern for Gai, however, confirmed the fact that the man's heart was, indeed, in the right place, assuaging any lingering doubt on Roy's end with regard to the man's allegiances and commitment to the war effort, and to the people who seemed to matter to him.

Shizuo Heiwajima
WEAPON ☇ STOP SIGN

Violent, lonely, caring, awkward, strong, perceptive.

A young man with breathtaking anger management issues but a heart made of solid gold. Roy had worked on him for some time, and was eventually rewarded with Shizuo joining the Watch as he had originally hoped he would. He's now one of his Zone Leaders, and a good member of the team...

...except for that not-so-small part about how his rampages cost the office quite a bit of money every week. Beggars can't be choosers, perhaps.

Hanabi Hyuuga
MEISTER ☇ SOUL MENACE (FORCE)

Dedicated, polite, confident, quiet, strong, determined

The youngest member of the Watch at the moment, but paradoxically one of the most skilled fighters Roy has under his command. Hanabi is Neji's cousin, and Roy's aware of how complicated their family relationship is. Nevertheless, it has not reduced his regard for the girl's work ethic.

He still hesitates about sending her off on particularly difficult missions, though.

Hinata Hyuuga
WEAPON ☇ HANDWRAP

Kind, forgiving, gentle, stubborn, optimistic, shy.

A painfully shy young woman who caught Roy's attention by merit of being someone related to Neji and Hanabi, two of his best fighters. He's aware of the strange familial dynamic between the tree, but he isn't about to tell Hinata that. Neji HAD requested, after all. As things are, he'd rather find ways to bring the girl out of her shell, and assure her that she'll do just fine in the Watch, and in Death City as a whole.

Neji Hyuuga
MEISTER ☇ CLAIRVOYANCE

Serene, Strong, Dignified, Focused, Determined, Contained

Roy initially found it hard to believe that someone like Neji was from Naruto's world, much less closely associated with him: the boy was incredibly serious, and later displayed a level of dedication to his duties with the Watch that few other members, even those much older and more experienced than him, showed. Roy was only more than happy to promote Neji in the future to a deputy Zone Leader position, and is now quite satisfied with the boy's performance as a full-fledged Zone Leader together with his partner.

Neji recently opened up to Roy about some of the issues that were plaguing him - that he did not mean to doesn't particularly matter, given how it was probably for the best in the long run. He now feels like he understands Neji a little better.

Fabiola Iglesias
MEISTER ☇ SOUL ADRENALINE

Loyal, driven, kind, tough, impulsive, straightforward.

A young bundle of contradictions in the sense that off the field, she's a sweet and helpful presence in the office, yet ON the field, she's a frighteningly skilled operative. Her dedication to the job is something that Roy respects deeply - it seems as though Death City's full of kid fighters with more willpower than most of their adult counterparts. Fabiola's fussing has also made Roy soften up a bit, and he has developed some genuine affection for her as of late.

He is, on another note, looking forward to learning how to cook from her. That should be fun.

Lloyd Irving
MEISTER ☇ SOUL ADRENALINE

Idealistic, confident, helpful, protective, idiotic, enthusiastic

With the way people drift in and out of Death City, and with the rate that new posts go up on DEMISE at an almost hourly rate per day, it should come as no surprise that most folks are a wash of familiar voices, faces or keywords to the average viewer. Lloyd, though, stuck with Roy because of his enthusiasm, and dogged refusal to believe that he couldn't wield two Weapons without difficulty.

Suffice to say, having him on the Watch has been an interesting experience, as predicted.

Lain Iwakura
WEAPON ☇ HAND-HELD COMPUTER

Quiet (Timid/Calm) / Outgoing (Energized/Curious) / Cruel (Sadistic/Sinister) = Intelligent, Observant, Resourceful

Neji's partner, a Zone Leader and a long-time member of the Watch who has, even with the quirks of her different personalities, done nothing but good for the organization in general. There have been some... issues, with regard to the activities of Bold and Evil, but Lain has yet to give Roy any reason to be truly worried. As things are, guests like them have bigger things to deal with, given how strong the witches are.

Roy's fought a number of battles with this girl at his side, and deeply values her as a part of his team. He's also confident in the fact that Lain herself is a good kid, and that Neji serves as a positive influence in her life, one strong enough to keep the other people in her head in check when it's needed.

MEISTER ☇ SOUL FLASH

Sexy, kind, strong, independent, righteous, fair

If Roy had been any less of a man, he might have had his... doubts about this one on the fly, and they wouldn't have been completely unfounded. Strong women in the service were a staple back in Amestris, though, and while he's always been one to appreciate a fair face, Roy's never been in the habit of devaluing a girl's potential just because she's pretty.

Strip seems to carry herself sensibly enough, and newcomers who almost immediately sign up to share their skills and expertise with the Watch always leave Roy in good spirits. That she's a superhero with experience in certain, ah, areas has also left Roy considering approaching her for some interesting business propositions in the future.

Of the non-sexual kind, of course.

Their time together in Death City and working to protect the place has drawn them closer together, and Roy has come to view Strip as someone he can lean on when he needs to, and a soldier whom he can trust his back to during a firefight.

Koutetsu Kaburagi
WEAPON ☇ CLAWS

Enthusiastic, devoted, trusting, child-like, rambunctious, loving

One of the two "Heroes" Roy has on board at the moment: he was reminded, a bit disturbingly, of Hughes on the get-go, which was more than a bit disconcerting at first. The man's a devoted worker, though, and he's got his heart in the right place. They've also had a few conversations that Roy walked away feeling better from, even if he might suck at showing it.

...Really, though: the guy's got to learn to take a break.

Kotaro Katsura
MEISTER ☇ SOUL LEADER

Serious, dreamy, intense, fierce, honorable, independent.

Katsura initially struck Roy as very strange, and more than a little suspicious. As time went on, however, he soon found himself respecting the other man's opinions and professional attitude. Later on, when Katsura joined the Watch, he found the way the other man fussed over him and the other people on the Watch a little endearing.

For a long time, the majority of their conversations revolved strictly around business. Slowly, however, they started drawing closer, and speaking to each other more as friends than as superior and subordinate, or as one soldier to another. Roy feels that it's now safe enough to consider Katsura a good friend, and is more than happy to help the man whenever he needs to.

Mihael "Mello" Keehl
MEISTER ☇ SOUL PRECOGNITION

Intelligent, driven, arrogant, insecure, impulsive, suspicious.

Mello and Roy's relationship has been rather interesting, to say the least - the blond man came to Roy for work, and the two of them often wound up talking about things that were well outside the realm of DOGS business. They've shared some ~~conspiracy theory talks~~ drinks and ~~plotting~~ bird watching sessions, and Roy has come to rely on Mello as an extra eye on the network and a sounding board.

Keroro
WEAPON ☇ KERO-BALL

Confident, lazy, childish, gullible, friendly, loyal

A frog who is apparently some sort of fighter in his world. He's Eve's partner, and while Roy does have some doubts about a lot of the things that Keroro says, he does seem to have Eve's best interests at heart...

...But the next time he pulls one over Roy, the frog might have some rather serious consequences to deal with.

Sarah Kerrigan
WEAPON ☇ C-20A RIFLE

Confident, Loyal, Courageous, Lonely, Deadly, Tragic

A sharp-talking sharpshooter with a whole lot of wit and a no-nonsense attitude - Roy knew that Sarah was a soldier from the get go because of her first post on the network, and couldn't help but feel like they had something in common in that, at least. They have a professional relationship at the moment - exchanging info and favors over the network - mottled with small and warm moments full of the good-natured sort of teasing that's found between fighters like themselves. Kerrigan eventually became a member of the Watch, and working with each other at closer quarters only drew them together even further.

Things really changed for them, however, after Shibusen sent Roy on a reconnaissance mission together with Kerrigan. Being out in the middle of enemy territory always has a way of forming unique and incredibly strong bonds, and some bad experiences with madness wavelength and hoards of enemies only built upon that further. By the time they returned to Death City, Kerrigan and Roy were incredibly close, and nothing, thus far, has jeopardized that relationship.

Kerrigan is Roy's eyes in the sky, and one of two women who now watch his back - she's also about the only person in Death City whom Roy can speak frankly to about everything and not feel like he's giving too much of himself away. She has unconventional ways of showing how much she cares about him, but that doesn't stop Roy from being grateful for it. He just wishes that she'd let him watch out for her as much as she watches out for him more often.

Naomi Kimishima
MEISTER ☇ SOUL BANDAID

Focused, intelligent, reserved, logical, penitent, appreciative

With her looks and brisk professionalism, Naomi was, for all intents and purposes, a breath of fresh air to Roy before, when he had still been very occupied with finding as many answers to the mysteries of Death City and Shibusen's own actions as much as possible. They had many professional correspondences with bits of banter in between, and, with some wheedling, Roy managed to convince Naomi to help him out with the Watch when it was established.

It's clear that Naomi has an interesting past with stories to tell, but Roy isn't about to pry. Something tells him that that's exactly how Naomi likes things, and for the most part, he's content with the little details that she chooses to give him when things come up.

Recent losses have made Roy realize that he and Naomi may also have more in common than they originally believed. He hesitates to call the woman a friend - she does not seem much interested in the idea of having those - but he is fond of her, in his own way.

Shuurei Kou
MEISTER ☇ SOUL BANDAID

Hard-working, Determined, Intelligent, Idealistic, Kind, Naïve

The hardest working cleric that Roy's ever had on his team, with a sunny personality that could, on some days, give Aerith Gainsborough a run for her money. He rather like Shuurei, and appreciates the work that she's done for DOGS thus far. He also hopes to hear more of her music someday.

Sophie Laht
MEISTER ☇ SOUL BANDAID

Innocent, child-like, determined, curious, protective, loving

A cute girl with a sweet temperament and way too much strength on her hands. She certainly isn't the youngest patrolman that Roy's had under his command, but that doesn't stop him from being a little apprehensive about leaving her on her own for too long.

L Lawliet
WEAPON ☇ STEEL HANDCUFFS AND CHAIN

Clever, vigilant, neurotic, cold, awkward, frail

A strange fellow with an uncanny amount of intelligence, incredibly impressive credentials and a total lack of social skills. L and Roy did not cross paths until recently, when L approached Roy about joining the Watch. Roy has only just found out the possible reason why the man had done this - it isn't the best one, per se, but he can't exactly argue when it's obvious that L's got the skills to help DOGS out.

Rock Lee
WEAPON ☇ NUNCHAKU

Determined, Kind, Hopeful, Faithful, Dangerous, Insecure.

He remembers Lee well from the boy's first visit to Death City - his enthusiasm and energy were outmatched only by his master Gai, and he had been one of the most dedicated members of the Watch together with Sabaku no Gaara, his mysterious partner. He's more than happy to accept the boy back in the ranks of his forces, because he's certain that he can rely on Lee to get things done.

Santana Lopez
WEAPON ☇ RAZOR WHIP

Aggressive, defensive, desperate, afraid, manipulative, standoffish

A ~~sharp-tongued~~ witty, spunky and attractive girl who ~~flirted~~ talked with Roy more than a few times before signing up the Watch. Her decision to join surprised him a bit, as she had led a pretty average live, from the looks of it, before winding up in Death City. Perhaps her decision had been influenced by Tenten, her partner.

Saica Magoichi
MEISTER ☇ SOUL LEADER

Honorable, cooperative, unyielding, courageous, determined, commanding

One of the "samurai" of Hi-no-Moto, although she quickly set herself apart from that lot because of the fact that guns were her favored weapon. She joined the Watch soon after her arrival, and has been, thus far, a good addition to the team.

Gai Maito
WEAPON ☇ KURASIGAMA

Enthusiastic, optimistic, determined, focused, devoted, goofy.

The other half of his Zone Leader pair over at the Inner City Residential District, the master of the training grounds, and, by far, the most energetic, enthusiastic and out there man Roy has ever met in his life - unless you're also including Hughes in that mix, in which that becomes debatable. Gai is, by far, one of the best men Roy has on his team, and he has come to rely on the other man for more than just patrols and monitoring the people in that zone: he has, in fact, been making use of many of Gai's other skills as of late, including his expert spywork.

On a less professional note, Roy has started viewing Gai more and more as a friend following a particular drinking session between him, Gai and Auron. He hopes, of course, that Gai views him in a similar fashion now.

Cross Marian
WEAPON ☇ OUR LADY OF THE HIGHWAY (GUN)

Cross and Roy had not gotten along at all in the beginning, and it wasn't for the lack of trying on Roy's part - Cross is, for all intents and purposes, an asshole to pretty much anyone who doesn't happen to have boobs. As such, given how stellar their run-ins had been, Roy had honestly been surprised when Cross signed up for the DOGS and proceeded to do a rather good job as one of his trainers and technicians. They also appear to be getting along much, much better now.

Cross has big plans for Death City involving a possible science and research division composed of skilled guests like himself, and Roy plans on supporting him as best as he can. They've also recently had a few personal talks, both about Cross' life in Death City and how badly the war and recent losses have been affecting Roy. Would it be safe to say that they're friends? Maybe not. But they certainly are comrades who want the same thing: an end to the war with the witches.

Re-L Meyer
MEISTER ☇ CLAIRSENTIENCE

Independent, aloof, self-centered, entitled, wanderer, calculated

A "vet" patrolman on the Watch, and an intelligent young woman whose wit and spunk have grown on Roy over the months that they've known each other, and worked together in the same organization. They've had a few professional disagreements, but it wasn't anything that has affected the course of their friendship. There were, after all, only a few things that could not be fixed by a hearty debate and some fine wine, right?

Nataku
WEAPON ☇ RIBBON

Stoic, quiet, child-like, homicidal, submissive, loyal.

A decent fellow, if not very much like a child with too many questions. Of course, "too many" is relative. Inquiring minds need to know, and Roy is glad to provide.

Many find Nataku difficult to understand and get along with, but Roy has a pretty good idea of how the other ticks. He's a bit more careful with this one than he is with the other people on the Watch, because of Nataku's level of emotional maturity (read: a lack thereof). There are also times when their conversations get uncomfortable for him, which is, of course, no fault of Nataku's - it just comes with the territory, when dealing with the Weapon.

Still, he's a good fighter, and does what he's ordered to do. He has also shown great concern for Roy recently, albeit in rather unconventional fashions. It may be safe to say that Nataku is a friend to him, or maybe a kid that he feels a little more affection for than he should.

Leon Orcot
MEISTER ☇ SOUL DETERMINATION

Persistent, tough, crude, honest, protective and chummy

While he's one to believe that impeccable spelling and grammar are overrated, Leon's application to the Watch had left much to be desired. Still, he was a policeman in his world, and Roy's experience with those types have been stellar so far. He was more than willing to see what this one can do, and so far, he's been very pleased by the results.

Oh, and he's a gunner. That is always a plus.

Duke Pantarei

Calm, wary, damaged, independent, situational, loyal.

One of the Watch's patrolmen, and a fellow that appears to act as odd as he looks. He does his job, though, and as it stands, Roy's used to dealing with strange people.

Hopeful, courageous, caring, honest, optimistic, hardworking

One of Roy's stronger and more experienced patrolmen and trainers - he feels like he can relate rather well with the man due to their common experience as soldiers in their respective countries, and so far? He hasn't been proven wrong. Roy's quietly waiting for the day that Steve ends up with a skilled Weapon: the man's already in line for a promotion, in his eyes. The Watch could use more leaders like him.

WEAPON ☇ PAINTBRUSH

Artistic, loyal, observant, confused, stoic, honest

Another ninja whom Gai, Naruto and company are closely associated with - he's a smiley fellow, but more than a little socially awkward. The longest conversation Roy's ever had with the boy involved a compulsive hug.

Deryn (Dylan) Sharp
MEISTER ☇ MANLY SOUL

Loyal, brave, intelligent, cheerful, open, straightforward

A friendly but ultimately professional young soldier who apparently hails from a rather fascinating world. The boy's a hard worker, and Roy finds that he rather likes having him on the Watch so far.

Takuto Tsunashi
MEISTER ☇ SOUL DAZZLE

Happy, Confident, Loyal, Fun, Determined, Brave.

A bright young man who is apparently Aion's partner, which is something that surprises Roy a little. Boy seems nice enough, if not a little mischievous. He's recently joined the Watch as Aion's partner: this is a development that Roy will be watching closely. There has to be something interesting in Takuto, after all, to catch Aion's attention. Either that, or maybe Takuto does Aion some good in a way that Roy is yet to see.

Temeraire
WEAPON ☇ CHANGDAO (CHINESE LONG SWORD)

Intelligent, Inquisitive, Brave, Strong, Reckless, Self-Righteous.

One of Roy's two Zone Leaders at the Entertainment and Red Light District, and Toph Bei Fong's very sweet, very protective, very draconian partner. He's a good soldier, and surprisingly intelligent in spite of the fact that he isn't human. Roy's more than happy to have him on board. Few things are, after all, as effective in a negotiation as a full-fledged dragon is.

Tenten
MEISTER ☇ SOUL TRANSFORM

Confident, Determined, Sarcastic, Focused, Nosy, Calm

Another young and incredibly skilled ninja from the same world as the likes of Gai, Kakashi and Naruto, and Roy's number one weapons expert. She's an impressive fighter, and follows orders to the letter. He also likes her sense of humor quite a bit.

Karkat Vantas
WEAPON ☇ AXE

Angry, romantic, insecure, intelligent, isolated, stubborn

It was hard to miss Karkat on the network - the same could be said for any of the people from his world, really, with the way they typed out their messages on the network. Karkat, however, was the first to express some real interest in the work Roy did with the Watch. The alchemist is always willing to give points for that.

Karkat's young, foul-mouthed and temperamental, but it wouldn't be the first time Roy's dealt with somebody young, foul-mouthed and temperamental at all. Furthermore, the incident with Vriska Serket and a few more nasty run-ins with the less than stable people from their world showed Roy that the troll boy is, indeed, leadership material. He can trust this one to do what he has to do, it seems.

On another note, he and Karkat appear to be getting closer, for the lack of a better word. Roy's also rather invested in keeping an extra eye out for the kid, in light of Selendis' departure and a few other trying incidents. Trust in Roy to get attached only too quickly to the younger members of his team.

Allen Walker
WEAPON ☇ MASK

Closed, brave, complex, lonely, polite, empathetic

A good kid with a good head on his shoulders - Allen was among the first wave of folks who greeted Roy when he was fresh from his arrival in Death City, and the boy's occasional expression of concern for him was always surprising in the past. Of course, their relationship did not just stay on the level of pleasantries: they talked on many occasions and on a broad range of topics, with the foremost being Shibusen and the war. Their differences in vision and the occasional stubborn refusal to accept help and support when it was being given led to a few disagreements, but strangely? Such conflict only served to deepen their relationship.

There were times when Allen actually felt like the wiser one between them, but Roy did not find this intimidating at all - he was happy, in fact, to have someone whom he could go to in case he needed a sensible word or a smack to the face. As such, Allen's subsequent disappearances did cause him some grief. Seeing the boy yet again returned to Death City, then, was... interesting. Unsurprisingly, this Allen was, for the second time over, taken from a different period in time, it seemed, and did not share any of Roy's memories of Death City, or their previous correspondence.

For Roy, though, friendship doesn't end just because one party isn't quite the way you remember them being, or has no recollection of ever being your friend in the first place. Allen is still someone Roy holds in high regard, and - should they ever manage to get close again - perhaps he can defer to the young man, once again, for advice and ideas.

Delicate, Calm, Sensitive, Sagacious, Dependent, Idealistic

Another one of the quiet young patrolmen on the Watch who may have seen and experienced a bit too much for their age. He's a good kid; does his job well.
